Robert Gregory
As a European Patent Attorney and a Chartered Patent Attorney, Rob represents clients before the European Patent Office and the UK Intellectual Property Office. This work includes patent prosecutions, patent oppositions, and generally advising clients on patent matters. He also takes an interest in patent procedures outside Europe and advises clients on the development of international patenting strategies appropriate for their businesses. By fully understanding a client’s technology as well as the obstacles in their way, he aims to present the best possible case for the client, and guide the client through the necessary legal steps as painlessly as possible. Rob handles patent work in a range of subject areas, predominantly chemistry and related fields such as pharmaceuticals, fast-moving consumer goods, life science and material science. He has an MA degree in natural sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry and biotransformations from the University of Liverpool. He joined the Liverpool office of W.P. Thompson & Co. in 2006, having previously worked as a Patent Attorney in Stockholm, Sweden and in the South of England.
