Sarah is a qualified European patent attorney, chartered UK patent attorney and registered design attorney at WP Thompson working in the chemistry and life sciences team.
Since joining the profession in 2014, Sarah has worked with multinational companies and SMEs across a wide range of chemistry related fields including material technologies, energy storage, pharmaceuticals and biological technologies, and medical device technologies. In addition to working on all aspects of patent prosecution, including patent drafting, written and oral prosecution and prosecution at appeal, Sarah also has experience dealing in formal matters including the assignments of large multinational patent portfolios. Sarah also regularly collaborates with other patent professionals to prosecute patent applications in numerous countries across the globe, and manages the running of an extensive international patent portfolio for one of our clients.
Sarah read Chemistry at the University of Oxford (Lincoln College) specialising in inorganic materials chemistry and undertaking a research project into the synthesis and characterisation of novel cation-ordered anion-deficient perovskites. Sarah gained her PhD at St Andrews University where she developed piezoelectric materials for medical ultrasound and sonar applications.
Sarah has obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law with Merit from Queen Mary College, University of London.
