Lewis joined WP Thompson in 2012 and is a fully qualified Patent Attorney and a registered representative before the Unitary Patent Court (UPC). Prior to joining WP Thompson, Lewis worked in the R&D department of a large multinational corporation based in China specialising in the development of cloud computing.
Lewis' practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of fields, but he has particular experience in the mechanical, electrical and software technical fields. He has an in-depth knowledge of the patentability and enforcement issues surrounding digital media, telecommunication technologies, control systems, oil services technology, cryptography software, and business method inventions in the UK and Europe.
Working with a wide range of clients, Lewis tailors his advice to the needs of each, whether large-scale corporations or small to medium-sized enterprises, drawing on his commercial acumen to identify, protect and help his clients exploit key assets of their business.
